AC MILAN ICON CLARENCE SEEDORF TRAINING WITH LA GALAXY

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Out of contract AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf is reported to be in training with LA Galaxy.

The former Dutch veteran is to soon announce where he will be playing next season.

“He has been enjoying training at LA Galaxy, but I can’t say if that has anything to do with his future career decision,” agent Deborah Martin told Lancenet.

“I can say he is enjoying the time he’s been spending in California.

“Seedorf is very close to making his decision,” Martin added.

“In fact, he has been doing this every day and his decision will be made soon – by Monday at the latest.”

WEST HAM CHASING TOTTENHAM VETERAN WILLIAM GALLAS

Interesting transfer news are claiming that West Ham United are chasing Tottenham defender William Gallas.

The Sun reported that Hammers chiefs are trying to sign Tottenham’s experienced French centre-half.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce needs more defenders with proven track records following the club’s promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.

MARIO BALOTELLI - I WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS MOMENT

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli was thrilled with his performance in Italy’s Euros victory over Germany.

Balotelli bagged a sensational brace in the 2-1 semi-final victory over Germany.

“At the end of the game when I went to my mother, that was the best moment. I told her these goals were for her,” he said.

“I waited a long time for this moment, especially as my mother is not young anymore and can’t travel far, so I had to make her happy when she came all the way here. My father will be in Kiev for the Final too.

“Before the game there were my mother, my brothers, my sister-in-law and my best friend all by the touchline. Having my nearest and dearest there obviously fired me up. What music do I listen to before the game? Drake. He’s a friend of mine.”

With this brace, Balotelli took his Euro 2012 tally to three goals and is the joint top scorer, but also the only one still in the tournament.

“I will try to win the top scorer award. In football sometimes you can try so many times and it doesn’t go in, or try few and it does all the time.

“It was a fantastic assist, the kind only Antonio Cassano can provide, while Riccardo Montolivo’s pass was great too. I celebrated? I said I would.”

There was no chance of Barcelona or Real Madrid convincing Eden Hazard about a move to Spain, it has been revealed.

The former Lille star had his heart always set on the Premier League and signed for Chelsea last month – despite offers from both Spanish giants.

A member of Hazard’s camp told Sport/Voetbalmagazin: “It was a conscious choice.

Not even the influence of Zinedine Zidane at Real could change Hazard’s mind.

DAVID BECKHAM MISSES OUT ON TEAM GB SELECTION

David Beckham has missed out on selection for the Great Britain Olympic football team.

The 37-year old midfielder was being heavily tipped to be among manager Stuart Pearce’s 18-man squad for the 2012 men’s Olympic football tournament but has not been picked as one of three players over the age of 23.

Those spots have gone to Beckham’s former Manchester United teammate Ryan Giggs, Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy and Manchester City defender Micah Richards and the ex-England captain admits he is disappointed to miss out.

“Everyone knows how much playing for my country has always meant to me. So I would have been honoured to have been part of this unique Team GB squad,” he said in a statement.

“Naturally I am very disappointed, but there will be no bigger supporter of the team than me. And like everyone, I will be hoping they can win the gold.

“As a Londoner I was really proud to have played a small part in bringing the Olympics to my home town as part of Seb’s [Coe] team and I can’t wait for the Games to begin and will enjoy every moment along with the rest of Great Britain.”
