DENIS SUAREZ – FUTURE STAR OF SPAIN

Denis Suarez Fernandez or simply Denis Suarez is a Spanish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Manchester City. He was born on the 6th of January 1994 in Salceda de Caselas, Spain.

Suarez began his footballing career in 2009 at the age of 15 with Spanish club Celta Vigo. The talented youngster has been considered as bright and upcoming talent and a possible future replacement for David Silva.

Transfer to Manchester City

Denis Suarez signed for Manchester City on 23 May 2011 for an initial fee of £850,000 that could rise by £2.75 million depending on appearances and performances. Manchester City beat off interest from Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United for the signature of the talented youngster.

Suarez has only made two appearance so far for Manchester City. The youngster made his appearance in an pre-season friendly match against LA Galaxy when he replaced Edin Dzeko, in the 88th minute. He also converted a penalty in the penalty shootout in the same game.

In 2012, Suarez was awarded Manchester City’s young player of the year as voted for by the fans.

The Future of Denis Suarez

Only 18 years of age, Denis Suarez has been tipped for great things for Manchester City and Spain. Suarez has represented Spain in the U17, U18 and U19 level and has made a total of 18 appearance scoring a total of 6 goals along the way.

Eventhough Suarez is yet to make a senior appearance for Manchester City in the league, the young attacking midfielder has attracted a lot of interest from Europe. Dutch side Feyenoord have recently expressed their interest in signing Suarez on loan.

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak also recently said that he is excited about the young prospects being developed at the club. He said : “I look at Karim Rekik, I look at Denis Suarez, these are extremely talented young players that could be the future superstars of this club.”
