Premier League giants Liverpool have struck terms with AS Roma for striker Fabio Borini.

The 21 year old Italian international striker will be Brendan Rodgers’ first signing after Liverpool agreed a £12million fee with AS Roma.

It is said that Borini is set to complete his move to Anfield in the next 48 hours as the Kop boss begins the latest Red revolution.

This news will definitely come as a blow for Andy Carroll who was signed from Newcastle United last season but failed to live up to expectations.

With the capture of Borini, and the possible exit of Andy Carroll, Liverpool is set to have a new look attack for the 2012/13 season under Brendan Rodgers.

So who is Fabio Borini? Many may not know this but Borini previously played for Chelsea from 2009 to 2011 but only made 3 appearance before going out on loan and eventually ending up in Italy with AS Roma.

Borini however had much better luck in Italy where he featured 26 times scoring 10 goals along the way which eventually led to his first senior international call-up for with Italy.

Borini was born on the 29th of March in Bentivoglio, Italy and is 5 ft 11 in in height. He is known for his speed, strength and cool finish.

Borini also possesses good ball control and is a good finisher inside the box. He also has the ability to beat defenders one on one and has good dribbling skills.

Is Fabio Borini the striker Liverpool needs? Only time can answer that question. However at the age of 21, Borini has time on his side and he may prove to be the gem that Liverpool needs to return to their glory days.

Borini will have no problem adapting to the Premier League since he has experienced it before with Chelsea and Liverpool fans can expect an immediate impact from the Italian who may be looking to prove a point in his second attempt in the Premier League.
