Cristiano Ronaldo had an injury in eyebrow bone and got five stitches in the game against Levante, therefore he had no chance to participate in international matches this week.

After the game against Levante, the Portuguese Football Association announced that captain Cristiano Ronaldo, along with another two national players Joao Pereira and Miguel Luis Pinto Veloso, will missed the friendly match with Gabon in Libreville this week. Moreover, the main coach Paulo Bento called up temporarily Paulo Ferreira of Maritimo and Hugo Viana of Braga.

Cristiano Ronaldo was hit by the rear guard of Levante David Navarro with his elbow and got an injury in eyebrow bone in only the second minute of the eleventh game of La Liga between Real Madrid and Levante. However, Cristiano Ronaldo kept on until the end of the first half and scored a goal, he was substituted emergently when he appeared giddy and disgusting. After the game, Cristiano Ronaldo got five stitches in eyebrow bone, but he didn’t back to Madrid to received medical attention and plied to report to national team from Valencia. It was a pity that he did not pass the health assessment arranged by the team doctor of Portuguese national team in the morning last Monday.

Enrique Jones, the team doctor said that:"There are bruises both in the corner of his eye and blephar. Cristiano Ronaldo has appeared giddy along with impaired vision and headache. In this situation, it is meaningless to wish to play in international game. He should have convalesced, since the seventy-two hours after injury is critical to recovery."
In the same time, Real Madrid officials announced that the midfielder Mesut Ozil will miss the friendly match between Germany and Dutch this week.
