It has been revealed that Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has been named Slovakia Player of the Year.
The 28 year old central defender wins the award for the fourth time in his career.
The former Zenit defender saw off competition from Marek Hamsik, of Napoli, and Marek Sapara of Trabzonspor.
Skrtel joined Liverpool in 2008 and has gone on to make a total of 202 appearance for the Reds.
