Good news for all Arsenal fans as midfielder Abou Diaby is making his latest attempt at a comeback with the Gunners.

The Mirror claims that the French international midfielder started running last week and is hopeful he is now on the long road to recovery after his latest heartbreaking injury.

The 27 year old defensive midfielder, cursed by knocks throughout his career, had to undergo further surgery last month after a setback in his recovery from cruciate knee ligament damage.

Diaby joined Arsenal in 2006 from French side Auxerre and has gone on to make a total of 178 appearance in all competition scoring 19 goals along the way.

Per Mertesacker has revealed that he will be happy with a new contract at Arsenal.

The German international centre back intends to make the most of his consistent form to help drive the Gunners on to success both in the Barclays Premier League and in Europe.

The 29 year old said : “The first year was tough for me, a very tough challenge, but the club and the manager always trusted me in a special way,”.

“I think it is a little reward that we are talking (about a new contract), because I still have one-and-a-half years left.

“There is no rush, but it seems that some people are delighted with my performances at the moment. I am pleased with the situation.”

Mertesacker joined the Gunners in 2011 from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and has gone on to make a total of 89 appearance in all competition scoring 4 goals along the way.

Reports have emerged claiming that Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini will back down over his sleeve battle.

The Daily Mail claims that the French midfielder found himself at the centre of controversy for cutting the sleeves off his jersey — and in doing so flouted a directive Arsenal players have respected since the 1920s.

It is said that the majority of the Arsenal squad back Arsene Wenger’s stance.

Arsenal consider the 29 year old’s sleeve-cutting to be an oversight rather than a challenge to the club and there is a belief the issue has been resolved after the rule was explained to Flamini.

Former Arsenal player Brian Talbot sought permission from the board to roll up his sleeves in the Eighties, such was his desire to toe the line.

It has been reported that Arsenal fullback Kieran Gibbs has hailed the influence of Mesut Ozil on their superb campaign so far.

The England international left-back insists that the £42million summer signing from Real Madrid has played a major part in their brilliant start to the campaign.

The 24 year old also declared that the German international has got the whole squad believing they will win something this season.

Gibbs told Rabona: “Mesut Ozil has raised the club, raised the dressing room.

“A player like that will give you a lift. We’re happy that he’s there. He gives you something extra, something special. I’m happy to be working with him.

“It’s still really early, but I think everyone can see that there’s something special that we can do.

“A trophy is the objective, obviously. But a lot of the trophy competitions domestically haven’t really started.

“But we know we want to win something this season – it’s really important and we feel we can do it. There’s a lot of confidence in the dressing room and in the squad.”

Arnaldo Antonio Sanabria Ayala or simply Toni Sanabria is a 17 year old striker who plays for Barcelona B. Sanabria is also a Paraguay international having previously played for the U17 and U20 levels.

He currently has 3 senior caps to his name despite only being 17 years of age.

Sanabria was born in San Lorenzo, Paraguay and started his career in futsal, later moving to football.

He joined Cerro Porteño’s youth academy in 2004 and in 2007, he and his parents moved to Spain where the talented youngster joined a local club from Sitges, called La Blanca Subur CF.

Sanabria joined FC Barcelona’s youth academy in 2009, aged 13 and a year later he moved to La Masia’s facilities.

The youngster’s progress has caught the eye of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who is reportly keen on signing the young Paraguayan. However Arsenal are not the only team interested as Liverpool, Manchester City, Juventus, AC Milan and more are keeping tabs on the progress of the young striker.

Despite the interest from the biggest clubs from all across Europe, Sanabria has declared that his intentions are to stay are become a regular in the Barcelona first team.

It is also said that Barcelona are eager to keep the talented striker at the club but only time will tell when the youngster will be promoted and play alongside some of the Barcelona superstars such as Messi and Neymar.

So why is Arsenal interested in signing Sanabria? Probably because he is likened to former Barca and Milan striker Patrick Kluivert. To be only 17 and compared to the Dutch great is obviously a remarkable achievement and Sanabria has time on his side to grow and develop his skills to be a legend on his own right.

Arsene Wenger definitely sees the potential in the young striker and nder the guidance of the French tactican, the highly sought after teen will definitely flourish and become a big name player in the near future. Whether he will actually join the Gunners is another question, of course.

Reports are out claiming that Arsenal have lodged a bid for Barcelona striker Toni Sanabria.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal and Italian club AS Roma have made offers to Barcelona teenager Sanabria.

The 17-year-old striker is a Paraguay international and regular in Barcelona’s B side.

It is said that his representatives held meetings on Wednesday and Arsenal are deemed favourites to pip the Italians to his signature once they trigger the player’s £2.5million buy-out clause next month.

Sensational transfer news are out claiming that Arsenal have made an ambitious bid to sign unsettled PSG striker Edinson Cavani.

The Daily Star revealed that reports in France claim the Gunners are interested in bringing the former Napoli man to England after learning of his discontent at the Ligue 1 champions.

The Uruguay international is reportedly not satisfied at having to play in the shadow of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and has made initial enquires over his potential suitors should he leave in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Premier League side have enquired into the possibility of signing Cavani in the new year as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his strike-force, but have baulked at his £135k-a-week wages.

Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the Uruguay international.

It has been reported that Premier League side Arsenal are chasing Wolfsburg defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo.

According to Kicker, the Brazilian international has a buyout clause in his Wolfsburg contract that would allow him to leave for a ‘big’ club after the tournament.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs refused to reveal any details of the clause, but said: “Even at VfL [Wolfsburg] nobody is unsellable.

“For me it is important that we show [players] that we are willing to negotiate if an offer is made that is reasonable in a sporting sense and also makes good business sense for VfL.”

Barcelona are thought to be readying a bid but Arsenal could also rekindle their interest as they look for another defensive minded midfielder.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is enjoying the current form of midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

It is said that the French tactician hopes that the Wales international will continue to relish his role at the heartbeat of the side.

Wenger told Arsenal Player : “Aaron [Ramsey] has first a fantastic engine. I believe his defensive awareness has improved, his defensive qualities have improved and his defensive score is very strong now,”.

“After that he has a huge desire to play every single ball. He wins the 50:50s – that was not the case a year ago.

“If you let him, he takes the ball at the back, passes to himself in midfield and passes to himself up front because he wants the ball so much.

“That is why his presence is so massive in a game.”

The Wales international midfielder has been one of Arsenal’s key men this season, scoring 13 goals from midfield

Wenger said : “He is a young player and there is a lot more to come from him,”.

“There is no limitation to his development, he can be a complete midfielder. Efficient defensively, efficient offensively, that is what real footballer players are.

“I saw him on tape when he played with Cardiff. The first time I met him was in Switzerland, with his parents, when he had a choice to make and I was at the European Championships.

“After, he decided to come and join us and the rest you know. I expect him to continue to improve, of course.”

Reports have surfaced claiming that Arsenal are joining the battle for Dundee United dazzler Ryan Gauld.

Dubbed Baby Messi by his team-mates, Gauld characteristically played down comparisons with the Barcelona superstar in a television interview on Thursday.

The Daily Mail claims that Arsene Wenger’s scouts will be the latest star-spotters to beat a path to Tannadice when they run the rule over Scottish football’s hottest property Gauld on Friday evening.

It is said that Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton have all watched the Dundee United player in action, and now Premier League leaders Arsenal have decided to send their own representative to Friday’s Scottish Cup fourth-round tie with Kilmarnock after receiving glowing reports about the 17-year-old.

It has been revealed that Thierry Henry has received high praise from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for the way he has managed to continue playing until 36.

The New York Red Bulls striker is currently training with the Gunners during the MLS offseason and is still able to match it with some of his younger counterparts which has not been missed by the boss.

“People like Thierry Henry [also] had exceptional qualities,” he told Arsenal Player.

“They would run 100 metres in 11 seconds when everybody else did it in 12.5 or 13. So if today they are running it in 12, they are still quicker.

“They start from a huge potential and that’s why at that age they can still survive, because they have the football intelligence. They had exceptional physical qualities at the start.”

Rooney kicks out at Cardiff player

Cardiff will feel aggrieved that Wayne Rooney wasn't sent off for his swipe at Jordon Mutch

The more the Rooney incident is shown, the more ridiculous it is that he wasn't sent off.
Boos greet the half-time whistle. The Cardiff fans, it's fair to say, are in a raged with referee Neil Swarbrick, whose decision not to send off Wayne Rooney has been pivotal.

France New Home Kit

The American giant unveiled France’s new 2014 home kit just minutes after Les Bleus qualified for Brazil 2014 thanks to a stunning 3-0 win over Ukraine at the Stade de France.
France were down and out after the first leg, which they lost 2-0 in Kiev, and few gave them chances of overturning the deficit after such a poor display. French papers like L’Equipe ran polls which indicated that the public had little hope of them making it to Rio next year.
However Didier Deschamps’ men pulled off the unthinkable which means we will get to see the likes of Paul Pogba for the first time at a World Cup.
The new kit features a predominantly blue shirt with a white collar, with the fabric inspired by the French town of Nimes ( the town that gave rise to the word denim). The collar and side-hem feature a selvedge-like accent, with the design of the crest resembling the 1958 one
