Spanish Speaking Sanchez Is Learning English

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

Alexis Sanchez is determined to become fluent in English.

Spanish-speaking Sanchez is learning English in a bid to communicate better with his Arsenal team-mates.
‘I’m trying to learn and it’s going alright,” he said.
“In any case, with all the traveling I’ve had to do there has not been much time – we were away a lot on international duty or with the Champions League.
“But I enjoy learning English, I learn't Italian and now am cracking onto the English.
“The club is helping me a lot and there are some team-mates who speak Spanish or Italian that can help me.”

Grzegorz Krychowiak Pranks His Fans

Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak pulled a Premier League transfer prank on his fans yesterday.

The Poland international star has been linked with Arsenal this season and sent fans into a frenzy with a tweet.
“I reached an agreement with an English club, but the transfer can not be made official until all the parties have not put their signatures on the contract,” he said. “I will keep you informed of the details later.”
The 24-year-old today added: “Acclimatisation in Spain is going very well … of course it was a joke!!!!! #VamosMiSevilla”

Wenger Blocked Alex Song's Transfer

West Ham United midfielder Alex Song has revealed Arsene Wenger blocked his return to Arsenal.

The Cameroon international says he had hoped to return to Arsenal when he left Barcelona last summer, but Wenger didn’t want him.
“I would have liked to come back, but they didn’t want me,” Song, who faces his old club for the first time as a West Ham player on Sunday, told L’Equipe. “That’s life. I’m not mad at them.
“Cesc also wanted to come back to Arsenal, who did not want activate their buy-back clause. It was surprising. When I see what he is doing at Chelsea. He is even better than before!”

Lukas Podolski Kept In The Dark

Lukas Podolski won’t rule out a January move to Inter Milan.

Inter chief Piero Ausilio is hoping to tie up a deal for the Germany international this week.
Podolski told Super Express: “A transfer? I have to explain this well. I’m not young any more and I cannot afford to wait for a chance on the bench. I’m 29 and my thought is just to play.
“I’m not crazy, I do not want to continue my career in the stands. What else can I do to give respect to Arsenal? I scored in the Champions League and ended up on the bench.
“I do not know what I have to show. In the coming days I will speak with the club and will clarify their position towards me.
“Inter? Currently there is nothing for granted, first I have to talk to Arsenal and understand their will.”

Meanwhile Inter Milan are pushing to sign Arsenal winger Lukas Podolski this week.
Inter coach Roberto Mancini has made it clear he wants a new wing signing made for the January market.
Inter chief Piero Ausilio is in England this week to find an attacking signing and Podolski is their prime target.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was asked about the reports after victory at West Ham United: “No there is nothing concrete there.
“At the moment nobody goes out. We have (Mesut) Ozil coming back now at the beginning of January, so of course there is a lot of competition up front.”

Alex Song’s Disallowed Goal

Monday, December 29, 2014

Arsene Wenger was surprised that Alex Song’s ‘goal’ for West Ham United was denied yesterday.

The incident occurred when Song struck an impressive volley from 20 yards out that beat Arsenal’s Szczesny, only for the linesman to rule it offside. When Song struck the ball three West Ham players were in offside positions but none of them touched the ball.
“I didn’t know why Alex Song’s goal didn’t stand, I thought it would,” Wenger told reporters.
“We scored a good second goal and had many opportunities to score another. It didn’t come and at 2-1 I thought the last 30 minutes would be difficult.”

Jordan Veretout - The Rising Star

Thursday, December 25, 2014

Jordan Veretout is a French footballer who plays for French club Nantes in Ligue 1. He plays as a midfielder. Veretout made his professional debut on 13 May 2011 in a league match against Sedan
Veretout has played 18 games , scoring 6 goles and a has 4 assists for the ongoing season.

Veretout has blossomed this season and current has six goals and three assists in the league.
Coach Michel Der Zakarian has mostly played 4-2-3-1 this season, Veretout has done his best work behind the striker, but at times they have flirted with 4-4-2 and the midfielder has impressed just as much when asked to battle and fight.

Nantes’ French Under-21 midfielder Jordan Veretout is being tracked by Arsenal.

The Mirror reported that Arsene Wenger is keeping tabs on the 21-year-old after his impressive form this season which is also attracting interest from Inter Milan and Spanish clubs.
Veretout’s contract expires in 2017 and has a buy-out clause of around £4million.
Arsenal do need to bring in reinforcements this January – especially after Arsene Wenger made the astonishing admission that his defence lacks “leadership”.

Real Madrid Defender Sergio Ramos may play for Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made contact with Sergio Ramos’ camp

AS reported that Wenger has personally contacted Rene Ramos, the agent of Real Madrid centre-back Ramos, to inquire about the potential availability of the Spanish international.
Reports suggest Arsenal are keen to take advantage of a supposed breakdown in contract extension talks between Real Madrid and Ramos.
The defender confessed this week: “We’ve had meetings to speak about the contract extension but I’m not in a hurry.
“I have two years left on my contract.
“This is something that doesn’t bother me at all.”

Will Atletico Madrid winger Alessio Cerci land at Inter Milan

Inter Milan are focusing on a deal next month for Atletico Madrid winger Alessio Cerci.

Inter coach Roberto Mancini is insisting on a new wide player for the January market and Tuttosport claims that Cerci is his No1 target. Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah is also under consideration.
However, Cerci is Mancini’s top target and the Inter coach is understood to have been assured by the former Torino star he wants the deal to happen.
Arsenal and AC Milan have also been linked, with the latter holding the trump card of Fernando Torres.
The on-loan Chelsea striker is wanted by Atleti and Milan are willing to release him from his two-year Chelsea loan – if Cerci is offered in return.

Arsenal,Liverpool and Manchester United in race to secure Unhappy Edinson Cavani

PSG are ready to listen to offers from Arsenal,Liverpool and Manchester United for unhappy striker Edinson Cavani.

The Daily Express reported that Cavani and coach Laurent Blanc have fallen out in dramatic fashion this week.
While the pair publicly reconciled at the start of the season, it seems things have once again taken a turn for the worse in recent days.
Blanc has spoken about his need to be a bit more ruthless in his decision making to help PSG achieve their lofty goals.
And reports in France suggest that may mean Cavani is told to pack his bags.
Liverpool and Manchester United have both been linked with moves for Cavani in the past but it seems that Arsenal are now in pole position to land the former Napoli star.

Arsenal and Manchester United chase Mats Hummels

Arsenal are ready to challenge Manchester United for Borussia Dortmund skipper Mats Hummels.

TMW reported that Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with United after entering the race for Dortmund defender Hummels.
Arsene Wenger could be set to make a massive offer for the German international having prioritised a centre-half this January.
Dortmund’s struggles in the first half of the Bundesliga season – which Hummels has slammed as “pathetic” – could help Arsenal’s cause although a massive bid, in the region of £45million, would need to be made.

Arsenal have had 25 injuries this season, the most in the Premier League

Arsene Wenger feels his team have paid the price in injuries for having players at the World Cup and the qualifying stages of the Champions League.

But Wenger, who appointed Shad Forsythe as the club’s head of athletic performance in the summer, said the problems were not down to issues with his team’s preparations or conditioning.
“We have to consider every injury individually. Most of the injuries we’ve had are joint problems and accidental problems and there are post-World Cup traumatic injuries,” said the Frenchman.
“The only muscular problems we have had consistently this year are Arteta and Ramsey. Ramsey is quite surprising because he’s young and has good stamina and we haven’t really found out why.
“Let’s not forget, we’ve played eight Champions League games since the start of the season and when your bodies are not really prepared and you go Wednesday night to Besiktas and Saturday to Sunderland, it’s demanding.
“Is that the only explanation? I don’t know but I cannot deny that we’ve had more injuries than planned.”

Arsenal scouting for Benedikt Howedes

Arsenal are stepping up interest in Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes.

The Daily Mail reported that the Gunners have sent scouts to watch Howedes.
Representatives were in the stands for the 4-0 win over Stuttgart last week and Howedes is liked as he is able to play left back, which is where he has figured for Germany.
The 26-year-old has admitted he is keen to move to England but has two years left on his contract and his Bundesliga club are reluctant to sell while they are still in the Champions League.
Schalke, who face Real Madrid in the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition, value Howedes around £15million.

Marco Reus fined £425,000

The German international has been fined £425,000 for repeatedly driving without a licence.
BILD says the 25-year-old Germany winger was allegedly stopped by police several times and received speeding tickets on at least five occasions since 2011. It was then that authorities realised he had been driving without a licence ever since.
Reus said: “I decided back then to take that road but the reasons I did it are something I cannot really understand today.”

Pedro attracting interest from Arsenal ?

Arsenal are preparing a bumper offer for Barcelona’s goalscoring winger Pedro.

The Daily Express reported that the 27-year-old – normally a key player at Barca – has found his first-team opportunities limited under new boss Luis Enrique.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly lining up a £26m move for Pedro when the transfer window reopens as he looks to boost his side’s chances in the title race.
Pedro has previously said on his future: “I don’t know what’s going to happen yet, I don’t know anything.
“I’m calm though. When a decision has to be made, I’ll speak with the club and we’ll see what happens.
“Whatever comes in the future, will come.”

Gerrard Insists to put up best performance against Arsenal

Steven Gerrard has thrown down the gauntlet to teammates ahead of their clash with Arsenal.

The former England international hints not everyone has been giving their all.
“Everyone knows if we perform the way we have done of late against Arsenal we’ll get beaten,” admitted Gerrard.
“When you have a strike-force of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez, they are capable of killing teams in 20 minutes. It’s different this year and everyone knows that.”

Meanwhile Adam Lallana feels the pressure too .
Adam Lallana feels Liverpool’s Capital One Cup win at Bournemouth is ideal preparation for their clash with Arsenal.

The England international midfielder believes Liverpool’s result and performance on the south coast means they’ll head into that encounter in buoyant mood.

“This was a small step in the right direction and we’ll take it into the game on Sunday,” he told liverpoolfc.com.
“We were so dominant in the first half, but they were always going to come out and have a bit of a spell in the second half. It was important we got the third goal because if it’d been 2-0 and they’d got their goal, it would have been an interesting last 20 minutes.
“It’s a good bit of momentum we’ll pick up. We’ll take a lot of confidence out of the performance. I thought Raheem was brilliant again – it was great to get him among the goals. We’ve been short in that area, but he’s done a fantastic job for us.”

Theo Walcott could make a long-awaited return to action at Liverpool

Theo Walcott could make a long-awaited return to action at Liverpool on Sunday.

The 25-year-old, who has made just two appearances this season following recovery from a long-term knee injury, is set to resume full training after a groin problem suffered while on international duty with England.
“There is a slight chance of (Nacho) Monreal being available and a very slight chance for Walcott. We hope that Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit. We will see that on Saturday,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.
“He (Walcott) is back in training today (Thursday), but only today. I might take him (to Liverpool), I don’t know yet until he is back to full training. Let’s see.”
