Tottenham hero Harry Kane has said that it’s time they finish above Arsenal this season.

The 21 year old struck twice in victory over the Gunners on Saturday.

“There seems to be an opportunity every season to finish above Arsenal,” said Kane.

“But come the end it doesn’t happen. That’s the aim, that’s where we want to be, in the top four, which is what everyone talks about.

“You’d like to think if you finish above Arsenal then you’d be in the top four but the Premier League is a strange league and you never know what’s going to happen.”

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino fielded the youngest Premier League team this season for victory over Arsenal.

Pochettino was delighted to see his faith in youth justified.

“This is our philosophy. As a manager and a staff it was our philosophy at Espanyol, Southampton and now here,” explained Pochettino.

“If you have players with potential for the first team, why not? This is our identity. We have to give these players opportunities.

“Maybe we are brave but when we put a player in it is because they are ready. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but when you believe the player is ready, why not give them the opportunity to play? In the first season at Espanyol we gave 25 debuts to players from the academy. It is difficult to coach young players.

“It is easier to coach senior players because they are already developed. You need to be patient, and I think my staff have this quality.”
