They fully deserve all three points after putting in a great performance at both ends of the pitch, and they made Everton pay for a poor first-half display thanks to well-taken goals from Giroud and Koscielny. The visitors did well to get back into the game through a Barkley strike and looked better in the second period but still struggled going forward and can have few complaints about the scoreline.

The WAGs have time on their hands

In today’s world professional footballers are some of the most well-known and famous people on the planet, and that goes for some of their partners too.

Everyone knows the old guard of Posh and Becks, while Irina Shayk has gained increasing fame due to her previous relationship with one of the greatest players ever in Cristiano Ronaldo.

The WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends) of England’s Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006 campaigns will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons, but some of those ladies are still enjoying themselves as high-profile better-halfs of some fantastic footballers.

While Wayne Rooney is hard at work on the football pitch trying to do his best for Manchester United and win a sensational sixth Premier League crown to add to his honours, his wife Coleen is a celebrity in her own right.

Mrs Rooney gained famed at Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup as an infamous WAG but has since grown up, striking deals with Littlewoods to front their brands while also doing some television presenting work.

In her old days Rooney would have had plenty of time to sit around, but with life so busy she’s leaving the WAG title in the past.

Those with plenty of time on their hands could use some of huge amount of cash their men earn to spend time online either shopping or using casino sites like aud.SpinPalace.com pokies where there’s plenty to keep them occupied with a variety of games to play on such as the classics roulette and blackjack along with the more modern slot games based on films. They might even have a go on the fruit machines on the site as they wait for their partner to arrive home.

Although Rooney may not earn quite as much money as her husband, spare a thought for Morgan Schneiderlin’s girlfriend. She still works in a sportswear shop in Manchester – it’s a far cry from Rooney’s glamourous fashion and television lifestyle as a former WAG.

Camille Sold is the girlfriend of the Manchester United star Schneiderlin and while he earns £100,000 a week by competing for one of the biggest sports clubs in the world, she is in Manchester city centre helping to make sure the Adidas shop runs smoothly as a sales assistant.

Schneiderlin is a big signing for Manchester United this summer and his girlfriend's attitude to working life is something many will be glad to see after recent views on footballer's partners.
