Newcastle United vs Cardiff City 1-2 Highlights 2013 Remy Odwemingie Goal Video

Loic Remy hit a first-half double as Newcastle United won 2-1 at Cardiff City to leap into the top half of the table.

Peter Odwemingie pulled one back for Cardiff, who were close to snatching a point after an improved second half.
Newcastle went ahead in controversial circumstances when, seconds after Fabricio Coloccini went in two-footed on Fraizer Campbell in the penalty area, they raced away for Remy to finish past David Marshall, who had made two brilliant saves earlier but was poorly positioned.
Papiss Cisse’s toe-poked finish was well-saved by Marshall, but Remy coolly placed the loose ball inside the right-hand post for 2-0. Yohan Cabaye hit the woodwork with an excellent free-kick, and the visitors were good value for their lead going into half-time.
Cardiff were far better after the break, as half-time substitute Jordon Mutch pulled the strings in midfield. They pulled one back thanks to the youngster’s fine flick, which put Odemwingie through to score his first league goal for Cardiff.
Mutch was at the heart of Cardiff’s attempts to level but Newcastle, who were dangerous on the counter attack, held on for their third league win of the season.
