Arsenal icon Martin Keown insists that Arsene Wenger’s men must become more arrogant and discover a killing edge against the top sides.

The Gunners were held to a scoreless draw by Chelsea on Monday night prompting Keown to write in his column for the Daily Mail that the need to give more in the big contests.

“Arsenal rode their luck at times, especially in the first half. They didn’t threaten the Chelsea goal enough,” Keown wrote.

“To be champions, you have to play like champions and Arsenal need to start offering more in the big games with regards to their performance.

“They have to play with more arrogance because a really convincing win over your rivals fills you with confidence and tells the group they can achieve something during the season.”

The draw saw Arsenal go second on the Premier League table, relinquishing top spot to Liverpool, who they trail by virtue of goal difference.
